difference and repetition
the visual contribution for umool umool vol.9 - the rejected, the recycled, the regenerated.

this is an experimentation for difference and repetition depending on various mimetic tools.
since my thesis theme of mfa was mimesis, i have started to have an obsession about copy tools and experimented with various materials. as it is a process, study and experimentation, it is incomplete and lots of things have been rejected by me.
two years ago, i could find a receipt paper as a copy tool by accident while writing my signature on it at a grocery store in u.s. it has stimulated my interest because of its mimetic phenomena. i thought it could be mimetic media and have done various experimentation with same kind of paper – carbon(less) paper. interestingly, when i moved to another city, i could not find any receipt using a ball pen because even signatures on receipt have been digitalized. it was very awkward for me to use a touch screen with another pen. the signature i have written was more different than i have thought.
the other experimentation i did for mimetic faculty was to see how exactly printer machines can print out on same spot. i chose three different printers and put just one paper using bypass for each. printing has been repeated ten times on same paper. it was sort of mimetic faculty test for each machine.
